LA RUMBLA in Arrowtown, Otago, is looking to hire a full time experienced Bar Attendant. This is a full time 30+ hours per week role, which will suit a professional person looking to be part of a wonderful community. We are heavily influenced by all things Mediterranean. 

La Rumbla is an institution in Arrowtown & prides itself on big bold flavours in our food & beverages. Therefore a strong knowledge of classic cocktails, NZ & international wines & beers is essential.

You need to bring a great attitude to the role each day as looking after locals & visitors to our region is all part of the role. This is the first time this role has been offered in 5 years. 

The position includes but is not limited to 

• We are passionate about big flavours in our drinks! So preparing, serving and selling cocktails, mixed drinks, bottled, canned and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with local ingredients & fresh flavours that complement our food menu is essential
• Working with the sommelier on new and interesting wines to keep the wine list updated and relevant
• Assisting in updating the beer menus with both local & international beers
• Attending beverage tastings & staff meetings
• Hosting the bar area and selling from our Tapas menu
• Learning and using world class systems such as Loaded Reports
• Cleaning and maintaining bar service areas, coffee-making areas and espresso machines
• Collecting payment for sales and operating cash registers
• Promoting services and products
• Washing glassware and arranging bottles and glasses
• Tapping kegs and attaching supply lines
• Replenishing drink dispensers, shelves and refrigerators

We will be looking for a minimum of 1 years experience in the industry. Ideally you will have management experience or have great references from previous places of hospitality employment to support your application. Depending on experience the pay is $28.50-30 per hour. This is a great opportunity to grow in a serious role with excellent team support.

You will be provided with a daily meal, weekly tips & be part of our Performance Bonus Incentive. You are also entitled to all NZ pay entitlements such as Holiday Pay/Sick Pay etc.
