People Like Us, in Arrowtown operate 2 ‘local favourites’, La Rumbla Restaurant & Slow Cuts. La Rumbla is a Spanish/Latin American inspired shared plates restaurant with an international wine list and full flavoured cocktails. Slow Cuts serves up fresh salads, slow cooked meats, hand crafted burgers and has an on-site brewery to add to its offerings. 

Both venues focus on the guest experience by providing world class hospitality, excellent food in the most beautiful small town in New Zealand. If being part of this sounds like something you are keen to be part of, then please get in touch.

We are looking to hire an Experienced Waitperson, who may wish to work at a single venue or both places as they are located in close proximity. 

The position requires but is not limited to the tasks below

-DAILY SET UP AND ARRANGING OF TABLES AND THE RESTAURANT FOR SERVICE/CLOSING DUTIES

-SHARING YOUR PASSION FOR THE PRODUCT AND COLLECTING THE GUESTS ORDERS/USING THE POS 

-MEETING/GREETING AND HOSTING GUESTS

-TAKING BEVERAGE ORDERS FROM OUR WELL THOUGHT OUT LIST

-DELIVERING FOOD/BEVERAGES TO THE TABLES

-CLEARING TABLES AND RE SETTING

-PAIRING AND OR RECOMMENDING BEVERAGE/FOOD MATCHES. WITH SPECIFIC DETAIL GIVEN TO UPSELLING

-COLLECTING PAYMENTS FROM TABLES

-SETTING PEOPLE UP FOR OUR LOYALTY PROGRAMME

-USING OUR WORLD CLASS SYSTEM BASED SOFTWARE. LOADED REPORTS/JOLT/RES DIARY

-ENSURING GUEST SATISFACTION AND PROMOTING THE BUSINESS IN A POSITIVE MANNER

-SHOWING EXCELLENT MANNERS AND A POSITIVE ENERGY

-COMMUNICATING CLEARLY AND HONESTLY WITH THE FRONT OF HOUSE AND KITCHEN

-AIDING JUNIOR MEMBERS OF THE TEAM

-BEING A GOOD TEAM PLAYER AND STEPPING IN WHERE NECESSARY

-BEING PUNCTUAL/WELL GROOMED/WITH EXCELLENT HYGINE PRACTICES AT ALL TIMES

-FOLLOWING DIRECTION FROM THE FRONT OF HOUSE LEADER/KITCHEN LEADER/DIRECTORS

-GENERAL RESTAURANT DUTIES

We can offer full time 30+ hours per week, along with all NZ employment entitlements such as 4 weeks paid leave etc. We provide staff uniforms for Slow Cuts. Both restaurants offer staff dinner, tips, performance bonuses, excellent & competitive renumeration, Staff discounts apply to both days you are and are not working. We have wonderful staff retention and have been operating in Arrowtown for over 11 years. We are Accredited Employers 2022

There is also excellent assistance in staff accomodation. Our key team members offer regular catch ups, team support and on-going training to help you thrive in your new role.
